Ongoing Advocacy with Government

HealthPRO Canada remains actively engaged with government officials at both the federal and provincial levels to advocate for policies that safeguard the healthcare sector from the impact of trade tariffs.

This includes ongoing dialogue with newly appointed officials to ensure healthcare’s unique needs are understood and protected. As the April 2 deadline approaches and new tariff measures are considered, we are working to ensure your voice is heard and will continue to provide timely updates on potential implications for your organization.

To further support our members, we have provided our pharmacy members with a template to assist in appealing for the exclusion of pharmaceuticals from these tariff measures. Pharmaceuticals were included in Canada’s counter tariffs to trade action by the U.S., which has raised concerns about potential cost increases and supply chain disruptions. This resource is designed to streamline the process and help articulate the critical need for exemptions that protect patient care and the sustainability of our healthcare system.

Our team is currently assessing all contracts (200,000 line items) in our national database to identify both Canadian made products and at-risk (US) items.

Stay Connected: Your Feedback Matters
