Cynthia Valaitis, HealthPRO’s President and CEO to Retire after 24 Years

After more than two decades with the organization, Cynthia Valaitis, HealthPRO’s President and CEO has announced her plan to retire.

“We thank Cynthia for her leadership in delivering unprecedented value to our healthcare system and her strategic contributions that position HealthPRO for continued success,” said Arlene Wilgosh, Chair of the HealthPRO Board.

Having joined HealthPRO upon its inception in 1996, she played a key role in growing the business from a regional, Ontario based group, to one operating across seven provinces and the territories. But her passion for group contracting began long before she joined HealthPRO.

“I started my healthcare purchasing career at Providence Centre [now Unity Health] in Scarborough, Ontario and I’ll always remember discovering the value of our membership in our group purchasing organization, a predecessor company to HealthPRO,” said Cynthia. “I believed so strongly in the philosophy of group purchasing that I came to work for the company.”

At the conclusion of another year of significant growth, Cynthia is enthusiastic about the next chapter of her life.

“HealthPRO has a proven team which will continue to deliver exceptional contract performance and member experience under new leadership," added Cynthia.

Cynthia will stay in her role until the end of December 2020 in order to support the transition to new leadership.

“As a Board, we are committed to conducting a comprehensive search to select the next Chief Executive Officer who will lead the future success of the organization on behalf of our 1,300-member healthcare facilities across the country.”
