Member Spotlight: HPHA Unveils New Cancer & Medical Care Clinic and Pharmacy

A valued member of HealthPRO Canada for almost three decades, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) continues to lead with innovation and compassion. With the recent grand opening of its newly renovated Cancer & Medical Care Clinic and Pharmacy at Stratford General Hospital, HPHA is setting a new standard in patient-centered care.
The new 18,000 square foot space replaces a 1970s-era clinic that lacked capacity for critical treatments like chemotherapy, PICC insertions, and iron infusions. The upgraded facility features 17 expanded treatment stations (up from 12), modern headwall systems, and a design focused on comfort, safety, and accessibility.
Patient and caregiver feedback shaped every element of the redesign—from layout and furniture to the calming colour palette. As Jim Battle, Co-chair of the HPHA Patient & Caregiver Partners Program, shared:
“At the end of the day, this project is a testament to putting patients and caregivers first, ensuring a superior experience within our healthcare system’s people-centered care standards.”
The clinic also includes a negative pressure isolation room and enhanced communication systems for improved safety and care delivery.
HPHA’s newly upgraded pharmacy serves all four hospital sites, processing over 250,000 medication orders and dispensing 900,000 doses annually. With a new NAPRA-compliant sterile compounding space, it now supports a broader range of chemotherapy treatments, improving access across the region.
This $30 million transformation, made possible in part by the In Our Hands Capital Campaign’s $15 million contribution, ensures that patients continue to receive high-quality care close to home.
