Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy is an accomplished Healthcare Executive with 32 years of leadership experience across Canada’s health sector. In his most recent tenure, Tim served as the Vice President of Health at Alberta Innovates, guiding strategic initiatives and fostering innovation in the province’s health research and innovation ecosystem.

Over his career, Tim has held several influential leadership roles that include the inaugural Senior Vice President at the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research and senior leadership positions at two of Canada’s leading academic oncology centers, overseeing critical programs that contributed to advancing cancer research and care.

Tim’s academic credentials include a Master of Health Administration from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University. In addition, he is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), reflecting his commitment to sound financial and operational stewardship.

In 2023, Tim was recognized by Digital Health Canada as the Digital Health Executive of the Year, celebrating his contributions to modernizing and improving healthcare through innovative digital solutions.
