Together We Lead: Highlights from our 29th Annual General Meeting and Member & Partner Summit
Thank you to more than 300 Members and Partners who joined us for HealthPRO Canada’s 29th Annual General Meeting and Member & Partner Summit, our most anticipated event of the year.
This year's theme, Together We Lead, captured the spirit of collaboration and progress that drives everything we do. It reflects our shared commitment to delivering value, improving access, and driving innovation across Canada’s healthcare system.
Mock Trial Spotlight
One of the highlights at this year's Summit was a dynamic mock trial that tackled a timely and complex question: Should Canada make all critical healthcare supply chains fully domestic to ensure resiliency?
Expert witnesses presented thoughtful, evidence-based arguments on both sides, sparking a balanced and engaging debate that reframed how we think about healthcare supply chain strategy.
Key Takeaways- Full domestic manufacturing is aspirational, but not fully scalable or financially feasible.
Selective investment in strategic areas (like nuclear isotopes or AI-enabled devices) can strengthen resiliency. - Global collaboration is essential for accessing cutting-edge innovation, scale, and agility.
- Sovereignty, sustainability, and reconciliation are powerful drivers behind localized supply.
- A hybrid model, focused on critical supplies and strategic partnerships, is the most practical way to move forward.
The Verdict? The Audience Shifted.
While full domestic manufacturing is aspirational, it’s not fully scalable or financially viable. A hybrid model, combining targeted domestic investment with global collaboration, emerged as the most practical and sustainable path forward.
Audience polling showed a clear shift in perspective, 66% supported a blended approach by the end of the session, underscoring the power of informed dialogue to build consensus.
