Precision in Joint Replacement: Intellijoint Surgical Joins the Innovation Accelerator Program

We are pleased to introduce Intellijoint Surgical, a surgeon-controlled navigation technology for joint replacement, now available under Agreement #07752 through HealthPRO Canada’s Innovation Accelerator Program.

What It Is

The Intellijoint Navigation System is a computer-assisted surgical tool that provides real-time, intraoperative measurements during Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) and Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA).

  • Intellijoint HIP® delivers precise measurements for cup position, leg length, and offset in both primary and revision hip arthroplasty.
  • Intellijoint KNEE® supports accurate alignment of instrumentation and bony cuts for optimal implant positioning during knee replacement procedures.

The system uses a miniature camera and tracker within the sterile field to deliver millimeter-level accuracy — giving surgeons objective data when it matters most.

Why It Matters

Traditional joint replacement surgery often relies on surgeon experience and visual estimation, which can lead to variability and complications such as implant misalignment, leg length discrepancy, instability, and costly revisions.

Intellijoint Surgical helps healthcare organizations:

  • Improve surgical accuracy and consistency
  • Reduce post-operative complications and readmissions
  • Shorten procedure time
  • Enhance patient confidence and outcomes

At a Glance: Key Benefits

  • Surgeon-Controlled Precision: Real-time measurements during surgery support accurate implant placement for both hip and knee arthroplasty.
  • Reduced Variability: Helps reduce outliers in cup position, alignment, and leg length — key drivers of complications and revisions.
  • Operational Simplicity: Minimal learning curve, fast setup, and seamless integration into existing OR workflows.
  • Cost-Effective Innovation: Fee-per-use model with no major capital investment required.
  • Open and Flexible Platform: Works with the implant systems surgeons already use.
