From May 10-13, HealthPRO held its first virtual Clinical Contract Advisory Committee (CCAC) meeting.

“The virtual meeting was definitely different due to the ongoing pandemic,” noted Paula Machado Sourcing Manager - Cardiac Care, Provincial Health Services Authority. “Although I did miss connecting with everyone in person, the HealthPRO team did an amazing job.”

Over the four-day virtual event, more than 80 clinicians and procurement professionals from across the country came together to establish clinical criteria, conceive contract strategies and evaluate nearly 100 products submitted by suppliers.

To facilitate these evaluations virtually, the HealthPRO team came up with some creative workarounds including live interactive product demonstrations.

“We extend our sincere thanks to the healthcare workers who devoted their time to evaluate these products on behalf of thousands of facilities across the country,” said Kathy Kennedy, HealthPRO CCAC Co-Chair. “The efficiencies that we generate by centralizing these efforts is of incredible value at the best of times but is absolutely critical in this environment.”

“After reviewing everything at CCAC, we intend on committing in advance to several contracts” said Dawn Beauregard, Sourcing Team Lead, Acute Surgical Intervention, Provincial Health Services Authority.

The next CCAC meeting is scheduled for November 2021.
