HealthPRO is pleased to welcome the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) as a new Member and Shareholder.
“We decided to join HealthPRO because we are looking for further savings opportunities,” says Peggy Maitland, Director, Regional Supply Chain, WRHA. “And, of course, it makes sense to take advantage of the purchasing volumes of a national GPO.”
“HealthPRO’s highly consultative business model fits well with our mission and values and a lot of their processes mirror our own,” continues Peggy. “We were really attracted by the fact that we will have choices about the contracts in which we wish to participate and that we are not bound to participate in all contracts. Nonetheless, we look forward to participating in as many contracts as possible while freeing up a lot of time on complex commodity contracts to devote to other contracting needs.”
The Winnipeg Health Region provides long term care, primary care, home care, mental health and acute care services to residents of the City of Winnipeg as well as the Rural Municipalities of East and West St. Paul - a total population of just over 700,000 people. The WRHA also provides health care support to nearly half a million Manitobans who live beyond these boundaries, including residents of Northwestern Ontario and Nunavut. More than 28,000 people work in the Winnipeg Health Region, which operates or funds over 200 health service facilities and programs with an annual operating budget of nearly $1.8 billion dollars,
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority to HealthPRO,” says Cynthia Valaitis, Vice-President, Business Development. “There is a real synergy between our organizations that I’m sure will bode well for working together. Our national membership will also benefit from the additional purchase volumes associated with WRHA’s participation in HealthPRO contracts.”
