The Clinical Program offers our members agreements which include a wide breadth of products used in Operating Room, Patient Care and Out Patient areas.

The Clinical Program utilizes the technical support and expertise of the Clinical Advisory Committee (CAC) to develop generic product descriptions, define acceptable evaluation criteria for all products, and when necessary, assist in the evaluation of products. The Clinical Advisory Committee, which is comprised of health care professionals from member facilities, has set standards which must be met, in order for products to be considered pre-qualified. When necessary, clinical trials are set up in member hospitals, to further evaluate the quality of products.

The Clinical Program also utilizes the expertise of the Materiel Management Advisory Committee (MMAC) for their recommendations of contract awards. The Materiel Management Advisory Committee is composed of Directors of Materiel Management or Purchasing of member institutions representing facilities across the country. When determining the winner of a contract, several criteria are reviewed and considered by the MMAC. These included: Best price throughout term of contract, Best net value to members, Breadth of product line, Addition of new products utilized by members, Value added contract proposals and the Absence of complaints about products or supplier.

As a result of HealthPRO’s work with both of these committees, the Clinical program is building upon its existing agreements and developing new agreements providing our members with a full range of products and services which offer the best overall value.
